Bringing a Piece of Paradise Back to Life
An improved agronomic plan and transparency breathe new life into Canyon Lake Country Club
THE CHALLENGE
Declining Communication, Membership, and Course Conditions
Developed by Corona Land Company in 1968 and one of only five gated cities in California, Canyon Lake has been called a “little piece of paradise” by its residents. But in 2008, when BrightView was contracted for Canyon Lake’s golf course maintenance, that paradise was in flux. Communication with the board and general membership had lessened and course conditions had tumbled.
THE SOLUTION
Plans that Set a Regular Cadence for Communication and Maintenance
We set out to improve the agronomic plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance, improve safety performance amongst the crew, and most importantly, be transparent about both planned and in-progress work.
THE OUTCOME
Elevated Course Conditions and Member Satisfaction
Within months of us on the job, the crew was re-energized and clear on priorities, strong golf maintenance leadership was established, and the maintenance equipment was upgraded. In addition, we worked with the board to develop and communicate a Master Plan and Tree Management Plan that would take Canyon Lake into the future.
Conditions at Canyon Lake have never been better. Our contract has been renewed and extended, and superb playing conditions and high satisfaction levels among the residents at Canyon Lake continue.
I never have to worry about things. If there is something I need to know about, I know about it. For me, BrightView's strength is in their ability to manage professionally and anticipate our needs.
