St Ives Country Club Gained the Competitive Edge
A modernized course brings St Ives decreased expenses and increased membership
THE CHALLENGE
Reduce Costs to Fund Major Renovation
St Ives Country Club, a private, full-service club in Johns Creek, Ga., competes with other top-notch clubs within the Atlanta area. Keeping existing members and bringing in new members is key to its livelihood. The club wanted to maintain their Tom Fazio-designed course, but reduce costs to fund a major renovation.
THE SOLUTION
Strategic Renovation of Course Infrastructure
We developed customized agronomic, labor, and operating plans to make the course’s maintenance more consistent. At the same time, we worked with St Ives to plan and execute a strategic renovation of course infrastructure with the goal of modernizing and upgrading the course.
THE OUTCOME
Renovating Other Parts of the Club Using Savings
Through comprehensive planning and sophisticated execution, the course — and course play — reached the level of quality that kept and drew members. At the same time, expenses for golf course maintenance decreased nearly 25 percent from 2008 levels. With the savings, St Ives was able to renovate its clubhouse and expand its aquatic center. The consensus? It’s an all-around win for St Ives and its growing list of happy members.
From an execution standpoint, BrightView maximizes what is being done for the dollars spent. They've been instrumental in taking the money saved and applying the funds to other areas of the course to provide even more value.
