BrightView employees led teams of volunteers from CBRE to install flower pots, enhance the landscape, and bring in topsoil for the vegetable garden at the Park South Family YMCA. Members of the YMCA will now be able to grow produce for their community and also use the garden as an educational tool.

Fifty military children received new bicycles and helmets that were donated to the Hunt Heroes Foundation from BrightView, a partner of Hunt Military Communities on many of its properties. The lucky children were chosen from nearly 200 essay entries on what it meant to be the child of a service member.

BrightView’s GROW was created with a mission of attracting, retaining, and promoting women within the company. As one of its first tasks, GROW surveyed the approximately 1,300 women at BrightView and learned that they overwhelmingly liked working for the company and more.

As a Category 4 storm, record rainfalls and a massive storm surge were anticipated as Hurricane Florence headed for coastal towns and beaches in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. When our models predicted that Florence would likely have an impact, Branch Managers began their preparations, which included enacting BrightView’s Preliminary Response Plan.

For the second consecutive year, BrightView’s Mid-Atlantic teams played host to a soccer tournament in Leesburg, Va. Participants included teams from 12 branches and more than 500 attendees.

Students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were working on an outdoor learning space and after the tragedy of Feb. 14, BrightView offered its services to help improve the area. The students, faculty, and BrightView worked together to finish the garden and installed a reflective and tranquility garden as a place to learn and heal, featuring 17 granite stones for the lives lost in the tragedy.

At Southern Connecticut State University, students, faculty, staff, and members of the community worked together to create a Remembrance Garden, featuring the university's Alumnae Sandy Hook Memorial to honor the memory of the four alumni educators who were lost in the tragedy. 

Hundreds of volunteers spent a Saturday in February renovating Pearson Park in Anaheim to give children a new playground. A team of BrightView volunteers showed those in attendance how to properly install the plants and shrubs while also assisting in the new landscape.

After Hurricane Harvey swept through Houston, Texas, it left Hilliard Elementary's landscaping bleak and desolate. Well, that was until more than 600 volunteers came out to restore the grounds for the return of the students in the 2018-19 school year.

Three playgrounds at Ruby's Place had become neglected and unsafe for the children to use. As the only area within the facility for children to play in, team members from BrightView joined HomeAid to renovate the playgrounds. The existing structures were removed to make room for security fencing, planters, a soccer field, and more.
