Collin Doebler, Project Manager of Operations, is the first sports turf manager with the Las Vegas Aviators franchise to win this prestigious award. The annual award will be presented at the 2019 Baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego, Calif.

The Las Vegas Aviators leads Minor League Baseball in ticket sales in 2019 and now has a new title: the 2019 winner of BaseballParks.com’s Ballpark of the Year. The field was installed by BrightView Sports Turf.

Major League Baseball and BrightView will build it, and the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees will come for the MLB at Field of Dreams game on Aug. 13, 2020. The temporary, 8,000-seat stadium will be located at the Dyersville farm in Iowa, where the iconic movie was filmed.

A nice lawn is more than just easy on the eyes, but it also controls soil erosion, traps carbon dioxide, and moderates ground temperature during the hot summer months. Those are benefits hard surfaces, such as concrete and asphalt, simply can’t match.

BrightView Sports Turf, together with its partners, sent in a crew of more than 100 workers to build a baseball field in just 23 days inside the main venue from the London 2012 Summer Olympic Game. With the short turnaround, and having just five days following the MLB series to tear it all down, BrightView chose a unique route to build the field.

Opening season for Las Vegas’ newest team, the Aviators, was hit out of the park thanks to the beautiful field designed, constructed, and maintained by BrightView.

BrightView’s President of Sports Turf, Murray Cook, has been a consultant with MLB for almost 30 years. Cook and his team were called on to make the field as close as possible to what players experience in U.S. stadiums.

BrightView’s Development and Sports Turf teams are preparing Bowman Field for the second Little League Classic game by putting down new conditioner products on the infield skin, painting logos, perfecting edges in the infield and warning track and ensuring the home plate area and pitcher’s mound are at major league standards.

Major League Baseball returned to Mexico for a regular season game for the first time in 19 years with a three-game series between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers. To prepare, Estadio Monterrey underwent a renovation to bring the field and stadium up to MLB specifications.
