What are the benefits of composting and why was this important during BrightView's work, in partnership with Laurel Valley Soils, while renovating Independence Mall in Philadelphia, Pa.?

The U.S. National Park Service and BrightView are improving the grounds of Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia. BrightView, headquartered in Blue Bell, Pa., is donating landscape rehabilitation work to the park and is using green mowers to maintain the lawn.

Opening season for Las Vegas’ newest team, the Aviators, was hit out of the park thanks to the beautiful field designed, constructed, and maintained by BrightView.

BrightView is donating landscape rehabilitation work to Independence National Historical Park, including the complete replacement of sod in the park’s most visited section, Block One of Independence Mall, bounded by the Liberty Bell Center on South Sixth Street and Independence Hall on Chestnut Street.

BrightView’s President of Sports Turf, Murray Cook, has been a consultant with MLB for almost 30 years. Cook and his team were called on to make the field as close as possible to what players experience in U.S. stadiums.

Working together with Kurt Buxton, Vice President of BrightView Design Group, Squaw Creek’s farm-to-table vision soon became a reality. In addition to his design expertise, Buxton was well versed in sustainable agriculture and particularly in hydroponics, a soil-free method of growing plants in sand or gravel that recycles water and saves nutrients that normally leach through soil.

For more than 15 years, BrightView has partnered with the city of Anaheim to help maintain their two 18-hole municipal golf courses. When the economic downturn hit, Anaheim called BrightView to help them reduce operating costs, while maintaining the level of excellence their golf community had come to expect.

Palm Beach County operates multiple golf courses, each of which has unique conditions, and all of which compete with other nearby golf facilities. By auditing play at each course, BrightView was able to recognize a pattern.

Roseville hired BrightView and Sports Restaurants, Inc., to help run its golf course maintenance and club operations (dining/pro shop), respectively. Thanks to a master communications plan proposed by BrightView at the outset, the partnership between all three entities has been a success.

Within a few months, the Longshore Golf Club was showing tremendous improvement. Trust was regained among town officials, a rational maintenance budget was put in place, and operations were streamlined and optimized.
